Tuesday's Results: vs. Israel NT | vs. Italy JNT

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The Mountain West All-Star Team sits 3-1 overall through two days of competition at the 2015 European Global Challenge held in Pula, Croatia. The MW squad, which is comprised of 12 student-athletes from the Conference's nine member institutions, recorded a 2-1 win over the Israel National Team (25-20, 25-23, 19-25) before a 3-0 loss to the Italy Junior National Team (25-19, 25-21, 25-20) Tuesday.

The 14 teams -- seven European and seven American -- in the U22 division begin tournament play Wednesday. The MW will square off against the Hungary Junior B National Team -- a team it swept Monday -- at 2:30 am PT in Uljanik Hall. The MW will play, once more, Wednesday with a win, but a loss will push them into Thursday's slate of action.

Bree Hammel and Alexis Patterson started the match versus the Israel NT before both were substitutes against the Italy JNT. The former combined to total 11 points, nine kills and two blocks, while the latter tallied five points, two kills, two aces and a block.

Joining the Scarlet & Gray duo in Europe are fellow 2014 All-MW Team selections Kaitlyn Oliver (Boise State/MW Newcomer of the Year), Maddy O'Donnell (Boise State), Adrianna Culbert (Colorado State) and Julia Warren (New Mexico). The remainder of the roster is comprised of Cassidy Denny (Colorado State), Lyndsey Anderson (Nevada, Reno), Devanne Sours (New Mexico), Emma Fuzie (San Diego State), Tyanna Roy (San Jose State) and Rachel Gale (Utah State).

New Mexico's Jeff Nelson, the 2010 MW Coach of the Year, will guide the team in Europe, while Air Force's Marc Swindle will serve as an assistant coach.
