Box Score

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV volleyball team (8-5 overall, 1-0 Mountain West) continued its winning ways at the Cox Pavilion with its 3-1 triumph (22-25, 25-11, 25-17, 25-23) over the San Jose State Spartans (9-6, 1-1 MW) Saturday. The victory upped the Rebels string of consecutive home wins to eight -- seven of which have occurred this season -- dating back to the 2014 finale.

"I thought our blocking was the key today; when you get 20 blocks you affect your opponent's offense in a major way," said head coach Cindy Fredrick. "Alyssa (Wing), Bree (Hammel) and Ceania (Kincade) were very effective offensively and Carly (Riehl) played excellent defense."

Alyssa Wing paced the Rebels with her sixth career double-double compiled behind a combination of 11 kills and 13 digs. Wing, who hit .300, registered three total blocks (one solo) and an assist, as well.

Wing was one of three on the winning side to notch double figures in kills, as Ceannia Kincade and Bree Hammel joined her in the exclusive club. Both Kincade and Hammel had 14 and 12 kills, respectively. In addition, the duo racked up the two-best hitting efficiencies in the affiar with Kincade's .355 followed by Hammel's .346.

Kincade chipped in nine digs and six assisted blocks, while Hammel contributed a team-high nine total blocks (one solo) and two digs.

SJSU got a double-double from Allison Meehan, who paired a match-best 44 assists and 11 digs. Additionally, Meehan had four kills and two assisted blocks.
