UNLV Opens MW Schedule Against Preseason Favorites...

Picked to finish fourth in the Mountain West, the UNLV Lady Rebels had one of the best non-conference showings of all the MW teams thanks to a 9-3 record and wins over Ole Miss and USC. However, the Lady Rebels lost starting point guard Nikki Wheatley for the year during a 62-59 loss to Oregon State on Dec. 19, right before starting the MW season against three of the top four teams in the league, at home against Colorado State (126 RPI), at Wyoming (120) and at Boise State (41).

That three-game stretch will begin on Thursday, as the Lady Rebels host the defending champions and preseason favorites Colorado State on at 3 pm in the Cox Pavilion. The first 100 fans to the game will receive a free UNLV big foam finger, while there are special prices available for CCSD families as well as UNLV Faculty/Staff. Kids 12 and under are always free at UNLV women's basketball games.
