LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV sophomore Harry Hall has been selected as the Mountain West Men's Golfer of the Week for tournaments played Feb. 13-19. This is the first MW weekly/monthly accolade of Hall's career.
Hall led the UNLV men's golf team, now ranked No. 16 in the country by Golfweek and No. 17 by Golfstat, to a third-place finish at its spring season opener -- the 18-team John Burns Intercollegiate in Hawaii, Feb. 15-17.
He finished tied for third individually out of 109 golfers, which marked the highest finish of his career. His final-round-low 7-under 65 was also his low collegiate round. He was 10-under 206 over his three rounds of the tournament for an average of 68.67 per round.
His 65 consisted of eight birdies and a bogey and the round moved him up 11 spots in the standings over the final 18 holes.
As a team, UNLV finished five shots back of No. 8 Virginia after shooting a final-round-low 14-under and had four players finish in the top 15 individually.
UNLV has now played in five tournaments during the 2016-17 season and has recorded a first, second and third-place finish.
The Rebels will be back in action Feb. 27-28 at the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Ariz.
