LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The 46th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team blanked Mountain West opponent Colorado State 4-0 on a blustery Sunday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The Rebels improved to 8-4 while the Rams fell to 3-6.
Because of windy conditions in the Las Vegas valley, doubles action was not played. In singles, the Rebels quickly took four matches to secure the win. Carol Yang, ranked 31st in the nation, beat Emily Kolbow 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1; Aiwen Zhu defeated Riley Reeves 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2; Anna Bogoslavets downed Celine Voss 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4; and Jovana Kenic finished off Solene Crawley 6-3, 6-2 on court six.
UNLV will return to action at the Fertitta Tennis Complex next Sunday when it hosts Oklahoma State starting with doubles play at 10 a.m. Admission to all home matches is free of charge.
