LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The Rebel volleyball team returns to the court this weekend in their own two-day UNLV Invitational at the Cox Pavilion. The Binghamton Bearcats, Eastern Washington Eagles and UC Davis Aggies will descend upon Las Vegas for the round-robin tournament that will consist of a total of six matches. Each team will play twice Friday, but only once on Saturday.

The Scarlet & Gray opens up the 2017 campaign against Binghamton Friday morning at 10:00 am. UNLV and UC Davis will square off Friday night at 7:00 pm. The Rebels conclude their weekend slate with a contest against Eastern Washington Saturday afternoon at 2:00 pm.

Additionally, each Rebel contest will be streamed live via the Mountain West Network and, they too, will be linked to UNLVRebels.com.

A NEW LOOK
The UNLV volleyball team, which won 24 matches and concluded its season in the second round of the NCAA Tournament last season, will have a different look to it this season with only three returning letterwinners and 10 newcomers - two of which are transfers and eight are true freshmen - filling out the 13-member roster.

Starting middle blockers Ashley Owens (senior) and Elsa Descamps (junior) as well as setter Riley Jacobs (sophomore) return from last year's squad, and the trio will be joined by transfers Leka Kiner-Falefa (sophomore/North Texas) and Lia Herlosky (senior/Feather River College). The freshman class consists of Jill Berg (Washington), Lauren Burt (Texas), Erin Davis (California), Alison French (Reno), Mariena Hayden (Minnesota), Elena Ivanova (Bulgaria) and Thea Sweder (Norway).

Season tickets to all 16 home dates start at $40 for faculty, staff and seniors (62+) and $50 for adults. All single-match tickets can be purchased in-advance and online for as low as $5. As always, kids 12 and under and UNLV students with a valid Rebel Card are admitted for free.
