QUOTABLE: "Out of everyone, Avi really impressed today," said Rebel cross country coach
Angelina Ramos. "She ran a 3-plus minute personal-best mark on a tough course and finished within a few competitors from Elisa and Emma, and brought a new mindset to racing cross country that she didn't have last year and raced tough. She's a competitor at heart and ran strong for her team – achieving one of the team goals in learning to pack run. Unfortunately, a few of our athletes were unable to start, finish or finish where they're capable of being when fully healthy. My heart broke for those athletes because they've worked hard and couldn't show it. We are building and we won't stay down for long, and how they bounce back as a team shows character, courage and heart, and this team will not lack for that."
