BATTLE FOR THE FREMONT CANNON PREVIEW...
UNLV (3-8/1-6) closes out 2018 by hosting UNR (7-4/5-2) Saturday night in the annual renewal of the Battle for the Fremont Cannon ... Also, the winning team earns three points in The Silver State Series presented by IBEW and Nevada Donor Network ... 19 Rebels are scheduled to be honored on the field before kickoff as part of Senior Night ... The Rebels are coming off a 35-28 loss at Hawai'i while the Wolf Pack won at San Jose State, 21-12 ... With starter Armani Rogers having missed six games after a foot injury, it has now been 22 years since the same quarterback started every game of a season for the Rebels (Jon Denton 1996) ... Rogers, who returned to action by coming off the bench last week in Honolulu, was ranked in the top 10 in the nation with 122.0 rushing yards per game when he was knocked out in September ... Rogers' replacement behind center, sophomore Max Gilliam, has thrown for 14 touchdowns in seven games, which is the most over any entire season by a UNLV player since Blake Decker's 15 in 2014 ... RB Lexington "Lightning" Thomas sits second in the MW and 31st in the country with 93.3 YPG. Thomas (1,026 yards in 2018) is the second player in school history to run for at least 500 yards in four different seasons, joining all-time leading rusher Tim Cornett (2011-14) and also recently set UNLV career record for most rushing TDs (40) and 100-yard rushing games (18). 

REBELS vs. WOLF PACK NOTES... 
After last year's win in Reno, UNR holds a 26-17 lead in the series ... The 43 meetings, which include 28 straight years in a rivalry that permanently became an annual event in 1989, are by far the most UNLV has had with any opponent ... Three Wolf Pack staffers formerly wore Rebel Red: community relations coord. Mike Bradeson spent 15 seasons as a UNLV assistant (1996-2009), first-year secondary coach David Lockwood spent the 2017 season on Tony Sanchez's staff while second-year RB coach David White lettered as a tight end for the Rebels from 1993-95 and later worked in the athletics department.
