LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – With the start of the 2018 campaign only 14 days away, the UNLV volleyball program will hold three tuneup matches over the next eight days in the Cox Pavilion. The Rebels will split in two for their annual Scarlet & Gray Scrimmage Saturday afternoon (2:00 pm), while an Alumnae Game and an exhibition against Northern Arizona will follow on Thursday (August 16/6:00 pm) and Saturday (August 18/2:00 pm).
 
2018 REBELS: First-year head coach Dawn Sullivan and assistant coaches Ariel Apolinario and Mel Nua will field a 13-member squad. Senior Elsa Descamps and sophomores Jillian Berg, Erin Davis, Alison French, Mariena Hayden, Elena Ivanova, Shania Scott and Thea Sweder will be joined by five newcomers, four of which are true freshmen and one is a junior-college transfer.

2018 SCHEDULE: The Rebels are scheduled to play 30 matches with 15 of those at home inside the Cox Pavilion. The team will play six of its first nine matches at home in the UNLV Invitational (August 24-25) against Indiana, Southern Utah and LIU Brooklyn, and the Rebel Challenge (September 7-8) versus Fordham, Cal State Fullerton and Eastern Kentucky. The squad will travel to tournaments hosted by Duquesne (August 31-September 1) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Saint Louis (September 14-15) in St. Louis, Missouri, respectively. Following the quartet of tournaments, UNLV will play 18 Mountain West matches with nine at home and nine on the road.
 
BECOME A RISING REBEL: UNLV looking for children between the second and eighth grades to be members of the inaugural class of "Rising Rebels" – a group that will assist the team throughout the season at home matches.
