LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV volleyball will conduct nine camps specialized for either individual and/or team instruction between June and July. Five of the individual camps are dedicated to students between the sixth and 12th grades while there is one for those between first and eighth grades and another for those of all ages. Both team camps are for those in high school (ninth-12th grades).
The first four camps (sixth through 12th graders) are each one day in duration and position specific, with the hitter camp leading off the quartet on June 4. The setter camp and middle blocker camps will follow on June 5, while the libero camp is slated for June 6. All four are scheduled to begin at 9:00 am and run until 3:00 pm.
A serving camp (all ages) will also take place on June 6 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
The final two individual camps are the Rising Rebels Camp (first through eighth grades) and Rebel Skills Camp (sixth through 12th grades) in July. Both camps are designed for players of all skill levels with the Rising Rebels Camp focused on coaches breaking down skill and demonstrating efficient techniques, while the Rebel Skills Camp is to develop techniques in all positions (serving, passing, setting, hitting, etc.) as well as development in both drill and play sessions.
The Rebel Team Camp combines competition, skill work and fun over two days, and will prepare teams for their upcoming seasons. Day one features drills versus another team. Day two will be structured in a tournament format.
Each camp will take place on the UNLV campus at the MPE North and South Gyms, and they will be directed by Rebel head coach Dawn Sullivan and her staff.
