MILWAUKEE (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV men's tennis standout Alex Kobelt won another match to start his Sunday but was later eliminated in the semifinals of the prestigious Milwaukee Tennis Classic.
Kobelt, a graduate transfer from Ohio State who is ranked 113th in the nation and seeded 10th at this event, won his fourth straight match here -- all in straight sets -- 6-3, 7-5 -- over 121st-ranked and fifth-seeded Paul Barretto of Cal to advance to the final four.
Moving indoors because of weather in the afternoon, Kobelt was downed by seventh-seeded Mor Bulis of USC in a tight match, 7-6, 7-5.
The finals of the tournament will be played Monday.
