LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's soccer team will finally hit the field this weekend, as the Rebels open their 2020-21 season with a road contest at Incarnate Word on Saturday morning in San Antonio. This is the second straight year the Rebels have faced UIW on the road, following a 1-0 win on Oct. 20, 2019 thanks to a golden goal from current Rebel senior Marco Gonzalez.

The Rebels come into this season looking for a bounce back from the 2019 campaign in which they missed the postseason WAC tournament for the first time. UNLV does bring back seven starters however, while gaining another back from an injury. Combined with a strong recruiting class, UNLV is ready to challenge for the top of the WAC.

UNLV was picked fifth in the preseason poll, while the Cardinals, under new head coach Kiki Lara, was selected 10th out of 11 teams after finishing last year at 5-12, 2-9 in WAC play.
