LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's tennis team, still missing top player Alex Kobelt in the lineup, fell 5-2 to surging Pepperdine Friday afternoon at the Feritta Tennis Complex.

The Rebels dropped to 3-5 while the Waves, who just topped No. 14 Oklahoma State on Sunday, improved to 3-3.

The visitors had to earn the win in come-from-behind fashion after UNLV earned a 1-0 lead in doubles. The Rebels took matches at both No. 2 and No. 3 and were leading at No. 1 when that contest was halted.

In singles play, however, Pepperdine grabbed five straight-setters to quickly clinch the overall win.

REBEL OF THE MATCH: Milos Dabic teamed with Jordan Sauer for a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles and then picked up his team's only point in singles with a 7-6, 6-2 victory over Corrado Summaria on court three.

QUOTABLE: "We played a great doubles point today but Pepperdine came back strong in singles. We had a couple of opportunities that we let slip away but we'll learn from this and keep improving. These highly ranked teams are opponents we want to be playing and we look forward to another one next week at UCLA."
