Rebels Remain In 13th At Aggie Invitational

J.J. Gresco and Jack Trent are both tied for 22nd after second round in Texas.

BRYAN, Texas (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's golf team shot a second-round 17-over-par 305 on Saturday at the The Aggie Invitational, which is being hosted by Texas A&M and played at the Traditions Golf Club (par 72, 7,227 yards).

No. 5 Texas remained the only team under par for the tournament as the Longhorns shot a second-round 4-over 292 and lead the tournament at 1-under 575. No. 1 Oklahoma is second at 2-over, followed by No. 12 Texas A&M in third at 6-over. Baylor is fourth at 9-over, while No. 25 Texas Tech and Louisville round out the top five in a tie for fifth at 10-over. UNLV remained in 13th place at the 17-team event.

Texas A&M's Sam Bennett leads all individuals at 6-under 138 after a second-round 2-under 70. Houston's Alexander Frances and Texas' Pierceson Coody are tied for second at 3-under. There is a three-way tie for fourth at 2-under. 

UNLV was led individually by senior Jack Trent and senior J.J. Gresco, who are both tied for 22nd at 4-over. Sophomore George Leigh is tied for 64th at 12-over, junior David Rauch is tied for 80th at 15-over and sophomore Jack Kozlowski is tied for 87th at 19-over. There are a total of 96 golfers competing.

NEXT FOR THE REBELS: The tournament will conclude with a final 18 holes on Sunday. UNLV will tee off starting at 7:30 a.m. CT.
