SAN DIEGO (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's tennis team lost its season finale, 4-3, at San Diego State Saturday, costing the Rebels a share of the Mountain West championship.
UNLV closed the year at 11-11 overall and 5-2 in the conference, one win behind champion New Mexico. The Aztecs improved to 5-13 and 2-5.
Playing at the Aztec Tennis Center, the Rebels, who were missing two starters, earned a 1-0 lead by taking the first two completed doubles matches. SDSU rallied in singles, however, splitting four of the matches that went straight sets and then winning both three-setters, including the clincher at the top of the lineup.

Eric Samuelsson, making his final appearance as a Rebel, teamed with
Clayton Alenik for a 6-3 win at the top spot in doubles and then swept Victor Castro, 6-4, 6-3, at the No. 2 singles position.
