Conference Play Begins With Boise State

UNLV begins new era of Mountain West softball this weekend

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) — The Rebels open a new era of Mountain West conference play this weekend at Eller Media Stadium.

UNLV (14-11) hosts Boise State (12-10) starting Friday at 6 p.m. Saturday's first pitch is 3 p.m. and Sunday's series finale begins at 1 p.m.

For the first time since 2006, the Mountain West will use a postseason tournament to determine its NCAA Championship automatic bid. League play will determine the top six teams for tournament seeding. San Diego State, the 2022 Mountain West champions, will host the league softball tournament May 11-14 at the San Diego State Softball Stadium in San Diego, California.

Boise State led the Mountain West's preseason predicted order of finish. UNLV was voted third behind San Diego State. The Rebels swept then-No. 25 Boise State on the road last season, becoming the first team to do so since 2016.
