LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV men's basketball sixth-year guard Julian Rishwain has been named the Raising Cane's Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Thursday.
The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletics Strategic Communications department.
Rishwain, a native of Los Angeles, California, scored a season-high 21 points in a 72-65 win against Pacific. He went 7 of 11 from the field, including 5 of 7 on 3-pointers as he tied his career high in made 3-pointers. Additionally, he made both of his free throw attempts, had four assists and four rebounds in 36-plus minutes of action. His back-to-back 3-pointers with under five minutes to go were part of an 8-0 run that put the game out of reach against the Tigers.
