FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (UNLVrebels.com) - The UNLV women's cross country team competed in its first meet of the 2024 season campaign in the 2.5-mile run on Saturday afternoon, the meet being the George Kyte Classic in Flagstaff, Arizona. The Rebels traveled seven different student-athletes in the trek to the east, consisting of four freshman and three returning student-athletes.
In her first collegiate meet, Sophia Legat paced the Rebels on a final time of 17:02.87.
The Rebels also had strong contributions from junior Nicole Boskovich, who followed closely behind Legat on a time of 17:14.54. The lineup featured two freshman rounding out the top-50 finishes of the meet; Breanna Blanks (17:23.91) and Claire Rands (17:36.98) finished 49th and 50th, respectively. Leah Okuda dashed to a time of 18:04.63.
The Scarlet & Gray competed in the 2.5-mile run (4k) for the first time since the 2019 season.
