LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – A trio of UNLV players won their singles matches to highlight Thursday's second day of the 2025 ITA Mountain Region Men's Tennis Championships on campus at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
 
Representatives from 16 schools are on hand for the event, which runs through Monday.
 
UNLV's top-seeded and 83rd-rated Ilia Snitari breezed past UNR's Remy Tregoures, 6-1, 6-2, to kick off the morning. Joel Gibson downed Sebastiano Cressi, also of UNR, 6-4, 6-1; and Illia Maksymchuk defeated Takumi Katsuda of NAU, 6-2, 6-3.
 
UNLV's lone doubles team fell in the Round of 32. Rebels Vitaliy Horovoy and Gibson were defeated 8-3 by 13th-seeded Nishant Dabas and Dario Ciobotaru of New Mexico.
 
As the second qualifying tournament for the 2025 NCAA Individual Championships, the ITA Division I Regional Championships will continue over the next two weeks on college campuses across the country. With 13 regional tournaments being hosted on the men's and women's sides of play, the two singles finalists from each region (26 total) as well as the doubles champion from each region (13 total) will qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships through these Regional Championships.
