Harris Named Raising Cane's Outstanding Rebel Of The Week

The redshirt sophomore posted back-to-back 20-plus kill outings in conference wins over New Mexico and San Diego State

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV volleyball redshirt sophomore Jaida Harris has been named the Raising Cane's Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Wednesday.

Harris has earned the recognition for the second time this season and it's the third time this season for the volleyball team.

The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletics Strategic Communications department.

A Las Vegas native out of Lake Mead Christian Academy, Harris led the Rebels to a pair of conference wins against New Mexico and San Diego State. Over the two matches, she totaled 49 kills, 14 digs, five total blocks and 56 points.

Against the Lobos, Harris posted a career-high 27 kills with a .286 hitting percentage to go along with nine digs, three service aces, three total blocks and one assist. In a win over the Aztecs, she tallied 22 kills, four digs and two block assists.

She was also named the Old Trapper Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week.
