LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV sophomore
Ilia Snitari, top seeded and ranked 83rd nationally, swept his two opponents to lead the Rebel men's contingent Friday at the Mountain West Fall Qualifier being staged at the Darling Tennis Center.
Snitari downed Caden Lee of Air Force, 7-6, 6-2, in the opening round and then breezed past Andreas Loizas of Grand Canyon, 6-2, 6-1, in the Round of 16.

Vitaliy Horovoy also won both of his outings Friday, fighting off Jakob Medved of Utah State, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (2) in the opener and then sweeping Maxime Contet of UNR, 6-3, 6-4, later in the day.
UNLV's doubles entry fell in the first round.
In the second year of this new championship format, each NCAA Division 1 AQ-eligible conference will host a tournament to designate one singles player and one doubles pair on both the men's and women's side to represent them in the ITA Conference Masters tournament, which is one of four qualifying pathways to this year's NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
