LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV sophomore
Ilia Snitari, top seeded and ranked 83rd nationally, remained perfect in his career as a Rebel in winning the 2025 Mountain West Fall Qualifier with a straight-set victory on Monday at the Darling Tennis Center.
Snitari, who was named both MW Player and Freshman of the Year after last season, defeated Boise State's Avery Tallakson, 6-4, 6-2 in the final in under 80 minutes to improve his record at UNLV to 13-0.
The native of Moldova, who did not lose even a set in his five matches over the weekend, earned the right to represent the Mountain West in the ITA Conference Masters tournament, which is one of four qualifying pathways to this year's NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
Another Rebel player, senior
Illia Maksymchuk, won this MW event in its inaugural season in 2024.
"Happy for Ilia," said UNLV head coach Andy Jackson. "It's great that a Rebel has won this event two years in a row."
The ITA Conference Masters will take place in San Diego from November 7-10.
