LAS VEGAS - Jamie Evans recorded a double-double of 12 kills and 11 digs as San Diego State defeated UNLV 9-15, 15-10, 15-11, 6-15, 15-12, in both teams first-ever Mountain West Conference volleyball match at Lied Gymnasium Saturday.

San Diego State (7-7, 1-0 MWC) was assisted in the win by Amy Hallquist and Lisa Bostian, who each turned in 11 kills. Hallquist also recorded a double-double with 12 digs.

UNLV (8-4, 0-1 MWC) was led by Justine Kamelamela's double-double of 11 kills and 19 digs. Danielle Gerlach added 14 kills, while Amber Graham had 13. Kendra Wilkinson recorded 14 digs and Julia Goes had 48 assists.

UNLV will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 8 as it travels to Provo, Utah, to face nationally ranked Brigham Young at 7:00 p.m. MT.
