SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Nicole Akporiaye recorded 18 kills as San Diego State defeated UNLV 9-15, 15-9, 15-13, 7-15, 15-10, in a Mountain West Conference volleyball match at the Peterson Gym Friday.

San Diego State (10-12, 3-5 MWC) was assisted in the win by Amy Hallquist and Lisa Bostian, who both recorded double-doubles. Hallquist had 13 kills and 12 digs, while Bostian turned in 11 kills and 17 digs. Jamie Evans added 11 digs for the Aztecs.

Angie Sylvas led UNLV (9-10, 1-7 MWC) with a match-high 21 kills and added 11 digs for the double-double. Jeanette Graves also had a double-double with 17 kills and 15 digs for the Rebels. Danielle Gerlach added 14 kills.

UNLV will return home to host Utah on Thursday, Nov. 4 at Lied Gymnasium. The Rebels will then face Brigham Young on Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Thomas & Mack Center. Both matches begin at 7:00 p.m.
