MALIBU, Calif. - No. 12 Pepperdine defeated the UNLV volleyball team 15-4, 15-9, 15-3 at Firestone Fieldhouse Thursday.

Pepperdine moved to 8-1 on the year with the win, while the Rebels fell to 7-2.

To start the match, Pepperdine scored four quick points. UNLV cut the deficit to two points at 5-3, however the Waves outscored the Rebels 10-1 for the rest of the game.

The Rebels raced out to a 5-0 lead in game two as Pepperdine scored six straight points to take the lead. From there the lead changed hands four times as the Waves scored the final seven points of the game.

Pepperdine got out to another quick four-point lead in the third game. UNLV cut the score to 5-2, but Pepperdine outscored 10-1 the rest of the way.

UNLV will now travel up the coast to Northern California to face Santa Clara on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
