LAS VEGAS - The UNLV volleyball team captured the title of the Official All-Star Cafe/UNLV Volleyball Classic at Lied Gymnasium Saturday.

UNLV (3-0) defeated Southern Illinois (0-3) 15-7, 15-1, 15-5 in the classic's final match.

Senior Christel Eves led all players with 10 kills, while sophomore Nora Bernson led the Rebels with 9 digs. Junior Robyn Shea recorded 26 assists to lead all players.

In the first match of the day, UMKC (1-3) def. Southern Illinois 15-5, 15-10, 15-3 and in the second match, Iowa State (2-1) def. UMKC 15-12, 9-15, 15-4, 8-15, 15-6.

UNLV senior Angie Sylvas was named tournament MVP, while fellow Rebels Christel Eves and Robyn Shea were named to the all-tournament team.

UNLV's next action will be Sept. 10-11, at the Terrapin Invitational in College Park, Md. UNLV will face Louisville on Friday and on Saturday will battle both Rutgers and Maryland.
