LARAMIE, WY - The UNLV volleyball team defeated the University of Wyoming in three straight games (15-9, 15-8, 15-4) Saturday night. With the win, the Rebels improve to 2-5 in the Mountain West Conference, 2-14 overall.
Leiana Oswald led the UNLV attack with 13 kills, hitting .400 (13- 3-25) on the night. She also finished with a team season-high four service aces.
Patricia Assuncao and Amber Graham each contributed nine kills, while Blair Wilkes added six, hitting .500 (6-1-10) for the match.
Michelle Johnson knocked down a match-high five block assists for the Rebels. She also finished with three kills.
Maria Julia Goes had 36 assists in the win.
Wyoming was led by Barbie Bragg, who had 11 kills to finish with a match-high .526 (11-1-19) attack percentage.
With the loss, the Cowgirls fall to 7-15, 1-6 in the Mountain West Conference.
The Rebels come home to the Thomas & Mack Center for a pair of conference matches this week, taking on No. 17 BYU on Oct. 19 and No. 15 Utah on Oct. 20. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
