NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The UNLV men's golf team defeated Oklahoma State in five-man match play, 4-1, to advance to the finals of the Hooters Match Play Collegiate Championship at Barefoot Resort on Saturday.
The Rebels, ranked 12th nationally and seeded 11th in the tourney, will face top-ranked Florida in the finals. The final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. EST on Sunday.
Junior All-American Ryan Moore won his third straight match to lead the Rebels to victory over the seventh-seeded Cowboys. Moore topped OSU's Chris Clarke 3 and 2.
Travis Whisman and Ryan Keeney also turned in decisive victories. Whisman stopped Zack Robinson 4 and 3 while Keeney won five of his last seven holes for a 4 and 2 win over Tyler Leon.
The Rebels' other victory came from JC Deacon, who knocked off Dayton Rose 1 up for his first match victory of the tournament.
OSU's Zac Reynolds defeated Andres Gonzales 2 and 1 for the Cowboys lone win.
The Rebels head to the finals after team victories over sixth-seeded Arizona State, third-seeded Clemson and seventh-seeded Oklahoma State.
Florida, the nation's No. 1 team and tourney's top seed, has cruised through its portion of the bracket,
