Rebels Win Streak Snapped At CSU

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The UNLV volleyball team was defeated by No. 9 Colorado State 3-0 (30-18, 30-22, 30-18) Saturday night at Moby Arena.

The loss snapped a season-high four-match win streak for the Rebels, who fell to 12-8 overall and 6-4 in Mountain West Conference play. With the win, the Rams improved to 19-2 overall and 10-1 in league play.

Colorado State had three players record double figures in kills and were led by Tess Rogers' 14. Bri Frech added 11, while Katie Shirley-Cahoon recorded a double-double with 11 digs and 10 kills. All three Ram players hit over .500 for the match.

UNLV was led by Brittani Lumsden's nine kills. She added seven digs, while Jada Walker had the team-high in digs with eight.

Colorado State hit .436 as a team compared to UNLV's .139 and had 10 more digs for the match than the Rebels had (38-28).

Melissa Courtney had 47 assists for Colorado State. Nicki King led the Rebels with 24.

UNLV returns to the Cox Pavilion next weekend to host BYU on Friday, Nov. 5 and Utah on Saturday, Nov. 6. Both matches begin at 7 p.m. Nevada, Reno rounds out the weekend as the Rebels will host the Wolf Pack on Sunday at 5 p.m.
