RENO (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's tennis team was dominated in doubles play but then quickly turned the tables in singles, winning all 12 sets in a convincing 6-1 victory over UNR at the McArthur Tennis Center Sunday.

The Rebels, who have won four straight, improved to 13-5 overall and 4-0 against Mountain West opponents. The Wolf Pack, meanwhile, fell to 6-7 and 0-2.

UNLV, which can claim its second consecutive regular-season championship with a win at Fresno State later this month, also got a leg up in the chase for three points in the Governor's Series presented by NV Energy and Barrick Gold. The Rebels and Pack must wait to see if they are matched up in the annual MW Tournament before any points become final.

The hosts grabbed a 1-0 lead by taking both completed doubles matches. The visitors, however, got straight-set victories up and down the lineup in singles to complete the comeback.

REBEL OF THE MATCH: Aiwen Zhu, ranked 56th, was down big in the first set vs. Claudia Herrero but rallied to win 7-5, 6-2 and improve to 23-8 overall, including 14-2 in dual matches as a junior.

STAT OF THE MATCH: UNLV has now won 14 of its last 16 regular-season matches vs. Mountain West opponents dating back to 2016.
