LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV Softball has officially inked three signees for its 2023 class, head coach Kristie Fox announced Wednesday. Kelsie Kelso, Lorennza Marcacci and Briana Williams signed National Letters of Intent on the first day of the signing period and will join the program next fall.

Kelso, a Humble, Texas, native, attends Atascocita High School, where she has been a three-year letterwinner on the Eagles' softball team. The infielder primarily plays shortstop, but has experience at every infield position. Kelso has hit over .400 in each of her three varsity seasons, including a career-high .510 as a sophomore, and has earned all-district honors once. Heading into her senior season this year, Kelso has amassed 88 hits, 78 RBI, 21 doubles and 23 home runs. For the past two years she has played her club ball for the Texas Blaze Gold and previously finished as a runner up in the 2019 16U World Series with Bombers Gold and captured a PGF World Series Championship with Sudden Impact. Kelso plans on majoring in psychology at UNLV.
 
Coming to Las Vegas from Benecia, California, Marcacci is an infielder at Benecia High School, where she is a three-year varsity letterwinner. Under head coach Kristen Grubbs, Marcacci has helped the Panthers go 30-14 over the last three seasons. The third baseman and utility player hit .543 with 25 hits and 21 runs scored as a junior last spring and was hitting .909 through four games in the spring of 2020 before the season was canceled due to Covid. As a freshman, she hit .300 with 21 hits, nine RBI and 16 runs scored. With her senior season left to play, she has already earned honorable mention and third team all-league honors during her prep career. Marcacci plays her club ball for Firecrackers Miller and she plans to major in business at UNLV.

Williams, also a California native, is an outfielder and utility player for Moreno Valley HS. Her first season at MVHS was canceled due to covid, but as a junior last spring she helped the Ivy go 15-5 while playing third base, outfield, catcher and first base and will complete her senior season this spring. Williams has played her club ball for the Firecrackers Brashear for the last six seasons, helping the squad capture multiple top-10 finishes at Colorado Sparkler, PGF Nationals and Alliance National Super Cup. Rated a top-100 outfielder in the class of 2022, Williams comes from a family of athletes as her father and uncles played football at Fresno State and her cousin Alli Tatnall played softball at Arizona State from 2017-21. She plans on majoring in business mrketing at UNLV.
The current Rebels recently wrapped up their fall competition and practice slate and will open the 2022 season in February.
