LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) — Friday's softball game between UNLV and Utah State was suspended due to a technical issue with lighting and will resume Saturday at 1 p.m.
Game two of the series will follow at 3 p.m.
UNLV led Utah State 4-0 after five innings when officials suspended play.
The Rebels plated their first two batters as
Sofia Morales scored on
Ariana Martinez's sacrifice fly and
Maddie Schmidt came home with
Denise Armendariz's single to first base.
Martinez batted in two more runs in the bottom of the fifth, hitting a ground ball up the middle that scored Schmidt and
April Visser. It was Martinez's 11th straight game reaching base.
