LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) — Nine 2022 UNLV softball team members received the Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Award, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced Monday.
The Rebels also earned a Team GPA award among Division I programs after collecting a 3.367 cumulative average the past season.
Rebels earning individual honors for GPAs for 3.5 of greater were
Jenny Bressler,
Mariah Castellanos,
Sofia Morales,
Hailey Schmaltz,
Maddie Schmidt,
Alanna Thiede,
Mia Trejo,
April Visser and
Julia Vollmer.Â
Bressler, Morales and Visser were previously voted to the NFCA's All-West Region Team for their on-field performances.
UNLV set 14 program records in 2022 and appeared in the postseason for the first time since 2018, finishing as runner-up to Baylor in the National Invitational Softball Championship.
