Rebels Return To Golden State For Matches At LMU, UC Riverside

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) — UNLV men's soccer will conclude its stretch of three consecutive matches in the Golden State at LMU on Wednesday and UC Riverside on Sunday. Kickoff against the Lions is slated for 7 p.m. PT and a 7:30 p.m. start against the Highlanders.

The Rebels (2-1-0) began their current California road swing with a 2-1 victory over CSU Bakersfield. On the opponents' side, LMU (0-2-1) enters the week off a loss at No. 3 SMU while UC Riverside (1-1-1) topped Grand Canyon in its last match.

NOTES:
  • UNLV posted season highs with 10 total shot attempts and five shots on goal in its last match against the Roadrunner. It was also the second time the Rebels scored multiple goals in a match this season, each of which has resulted in a victory.
  • As part of their non-conference schedule, the Rebels will square off against three teams that have been ranked in the top 25 nationally and made NCAA Tournament appearances over the past three years. Those include road matches at Kansas City (Aug. 25), at LMU (Sept. 2) and at UC Irvine (Sept. 13).
  • The Rebels have seen senior goalkeeper Hugo Lemos earn Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week (Aug. 31) and sophomore forward Maxim Scordo be named MW Offensive Player of the Week (Aug. 24) over the past two weeks..
  • This year's Scarlet & Gray roster features 13 newcomers and 13 returning players from 2025. That list of Rebel newcomers features eight additions from the U.S. and five internationals, including four student-athletes who joined the program in January.
  • The 2026 campaign marks head coach BJ Craig's fifth season at the helm of the Rebel men's soccer program. It is also the program's inaugural season as a member of the Mountain West after previously playing in the WAC as an affiliate member.
